Bach
Cantata BWV 33, BWV 101 and BWV 113

Gli Angeli Genève
Stephan McLeod, conductor

Now practically a festival ritual, Bach’s cantata are as sublime as they are timeless. They find a particularly fitting showcase in the acoustics of the Abbaye aux Dames, which connects them to the tradition of religious services for which they were destined.

These jewels of the sacred repertoire have, however, widely transcended religious settings and regularly feature in the programmes of concert halls throughout the world.
